These days I am disinfecting everything that doesn’t move. I was a tad chagrined to notice that for some time, I’ve ignored one significant surface—my computer keyboard. Meticulously I took a treasured Lysol wipe to the little white keys.

Two keys were particularly grubby: Escape and Control. Curious. They must be my most frequently used.

Also intriguing, the words on those keys aptly describe how I feel. I am frustrated I can’t control this crazy pandemic and its vast consequences. The longer the scourge lasts, the less control I seem to have! And escape? Well, say no more. I’m ready to fly this coop and see my grandkids.

Alas, I’ll just scour the keys and plug away at my computer until the stay-at-home order lifts and a new normal is set into motion.

I do notice a couple of other keys that should perhaps provide counsel:  Option and Shift.  Yes, I do have the option to shift my attitude.

Command, however, is still under consideration.
